How do we construct the basic geometric figures?

The geometric figure that's going to be constructed is and equilateral triangle.
You will need a compass and a straightedge. 

Step 1: Using your straightedge, draw a line segment on any length. Label the points A and B.

Step 2: Place the needle of the compass at point A. Draw an arc.

Step 3: Place the needle of your  compass at point B. Draw an arc.

Both arcs should look like this:

Step 4: Connect both endpoints A and B to the point of the intersecting arcs.
